Omnis CIC is one of the most fantastic groups that participate in the BAME health and well-being hub, the team leaders are absolutely fantastic, they involve all the BAME customers and encourage them to take part in activities on a weekly basis.

They have a way of including every BAME customer and help them to participate, communicate, social interaction, the BAME customers get involved in the different programme and activities , regarding of their disabilities.

They open up new ways of customers taking part in activities, what they used to do when there was much younger and fitter. The activities that Omnis does, helps the BAME customers to stay healthy , give them a sense  of self-achievement and confidence, helps with their physical and mental health and well-being ,most of all after a session with Omnis the BAME customers feels happy.

We have been attending the multisports sessions for a year now at Westmoor School. I am so impressed with the way your team provide an inclusive service meeting each individual child. Your team take their time to get to know each child and deal with any injuries in a safe and appropriate manner. I recommend the club to all my special needs parent friends and feel confident that my child is happy there. My child has thrived since attending, he is well looked after, supported and encouraged to try sports activities that he wouldn't otherwise have access to and most importantly he is respected in the sessions. He looks forward to them every week, has built great relationships with the staff and made some lovely friends. The team are friendly, welcoming and do an outstanding job with the children who have a range of different disabilities and are of a wide age group.

From the very first session there has been improvements in all aspects of Kyles life, well-being and maturity.

Along with the great improvements with his physical skills like strength, stamina, coordination, stability, and his fitness levels. The most notable improvements have come in his social skills and maturity.

Before attending the group Kyle did not like to be left at a group on his own without a parental figure been there and getting involved. Now he goes charging in on his own and gets involved right away, He also used to struggle in groups especially when there were younger children there, now there has been such an improvement its like a different kid, he chats and gets on with kids of all ages.

With regards to the support you and Omnis CiCs have provided to the BAME Health and Wellbeing Hub, this has been fantastic and really supported customers to move and increase their physical activity. We are well aware of the risks that increase as our older customers become more sedentary, the risks of muscle wastage, the increased risk of falls and loss of independence; as a service we support and encourage increased movement but this can be challenging. The way your service does this through the use of fun games, such as indoor cricket, basketball and kurling, always has our customers interested and eager to get involved. There is always laughter and raucous to be heard when your service is with a group, and this is what we want for the people we support: increased movement but most of all, to be having a good time.

I spoke with a customer of the Mens Group, H*, he said that before coming to the BAME Hub he was very depressed and had contemplating taking his own life. His wife was very worried about him and did not like to leave him alone in the house so both became quite isolated; they have family but these are working and have families of their own. H* doctor suggested that he attend the BAME Hub and he was reluctant at first, but now loves it. He enjoys all his attendance at the service, but particularly enjoys the weekly mens group that Omnis Cis facilitate. This has given his wife respite from caring for him and also increased his confidence and friendship circle.
